Announcing Mike Carlo is Taking over the Power BI Deployment and Governance Course

Announcement as of Dec 12, 2022:

I have some exciting news about the Power BI Deployment & Governance course. I'm thrilled to share that Mike Carlo will be taking over primary responsibility for the course as of Jan 1.

Mike Carlo (LI) is one of the creators of Power BI Tips and a host of the Explicit Measures podcast. He’s the owner of Carlo Solutions, a consulting firm that specializes in enterprise deployments of Power BI. Mike’s also a Microsoft MVP.

For the last few months, Mike has been helping me run the live events for the Power BI Deployment & Governance course. Now we've made the arrangement official. Mike and his team — including Dan Meissner (LI) who is amazingly smart and experienced — will be able to continue growing and expanding the course in a way that I haven’t been able to do alone.

Is this bittersweet? Sure it is, but it’s also very exciting. I’ll still participate in some live events, and will remain involved with running the course for some time yet. Having Mike and his team take over will allow me to scale back my responsibilities as I prepare to downshift to part-time and move to Portugal next year (work/life balance…here I come!). I will continue to write for Microsoft and finish the Power BI Implementation Planning guidance that’s in-progress.

I can rest easy knowing the course is in very capable hands. Current and future participants in the course will have a great experience because Mike and his team have a wealth of knowledge about everything related to Power BI.

Have you been thinking about joining us in the Power BI Deployment and Governance online course?

Now is a great time to join! Below is a quick recap of what you can expect if you join us.

Live Q&A:

We have live Q&A sessions every other week. We're able to cover all sorts of real-world topics. We encourage everyone on the call to contribute to the conversation - we especially love hearing other participants share what works and what doesn't in their organization. All live events are held twice, to accommodate global time zones.

Live Workshops:

We have a live workshop each month. The goal is to help you get something practical done. As of when I write this (Dec 2022): the most recent workshop topic was on "Licensing and Cost Planning." Coming up soon are "Power BI Objectives for the New Year" and "Creating a Support Model for Power BI." Recordings from all live events are available to enrolled participants in the training portal.

Templates:

There are customizable templates help you get started quicker.

Content:

There are dozens of modules targeted towards topics to help you with your Power BI implementation. You can watch the pre-recorded videos at your convenience, and then use the live Q&A sessions and/or the private discussion area to clarify or explore further.

What Other Participants Have Said:

Check out what other participants have said about the course here.

What’s the Cost?

It’s $1795 USD to enroll. You get access to everything for 6 months.

I’ve been told that just one template justifies the cost of enrolling. Or, if there’s just one Q&A call that steers you in the right direction that can pay for itself. If you think about it...the cost to enroll equates to approximately 1 day of consulting time.
